GPS collars and GPS backpacks for wildlife tracking are complicated devices

Telemetry Solutions has built an international team of very educated and talented people who work together to produce our customized wildlife tracking GPS collars and GPS backpacks.

The Company

In 1996, we began as a wildlife tracking manufacturer based in Walnut Creek California. In 1997 we moved to Concord California and entered into the world of GPS wildlife tracking devices as a distributor for another manufacturer. In 2005 we ended our distributorship and began to develop our own lines of GPS based wildlife tracking products. Since 2005 we have developed 7 different GPS and wireless based products with numerous models within these product lines. Having specialized in wildlife applications for 12 years our products have now crossed over and found applications outside of wildlife research and management.

Telemetry Solutions has gone from a tiny company making basic tracking devices to a small company with a massive amount of talent and dedicated employees who can design and build cutting edge, sensor rich, GPS tracking and communication devices that can be deployed in the harshest environments.

To augment our electronic design capabilities and enhance our custom packaging options, in 2008 we added in-house CNC machining to our list of capabilities.

The People

Quintin Kermeen - Founder & President.

I am originally from a small agricultural community in north-central Illinois. After high school I moved to California. In 1984, I attended and dropped out of a fine university, The University of California-Berkeley. Soon after that I was in East Africa working on a lion and leopard rehabilitation project. Obviously the lions and leopards were not in the same camps, I lived in the leopard camp. I traveled the world for a few years after that collecting stories and photographs with which I can bore my friends and relatives for a lifetime! I began Telemetry Solutions in Walnut Creek, CA in 1996. My pastimes previously included motorcycling and road biking but now include research into how a house can require so much maintenance. I live in Pleasant Hill, CA with my wife, rabbit and cat... and soon, possibly a dog.

Lynn Doan - Electronic Assembly

Known around the office as Miss Le, she was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam.
In 10 years at Telemetry Solutions she has never taken a sick day.

Jan Krejsa - Electronic Engineer

Born in The Czech Republic, Jan (pronounced yawn) holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from The Czech Technical University in Prague. At 30 years of age, he never seems to sleep and given enough tea with lemon and cookies you can keep him at his bench designing and testing for hours on end. Jan is also an accomplished magician known as The Amazing Bin.

William Roman - Production Engineer

Will holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from California Polytechnic University. He is currently working on his Master's Degree at San Jose State University. Will is a very hard working and quiet person. He goes with the flow and brings our new products and test methods into production.

Aaron Haldiman - Custom Design, Wildlife Applications

Aaron holds a B.S. degree in Animation and Visual Effects from Ex'pression College in Emeryville, CA. Born and raised in Austin Texas, he was exiled to California because they found him too liberal. Aaron is our "outside the box" guy and can often be found around the shop doing the impossible. His hobbies are too numerous to mention but most of his free time is spent trying to ensure "fairness" on the planet Earth. He lives with his family and Toyota Prius in Vacaville, CA.

Nadia Barikzai - Executive Assistant

Originally from Kandahar Afghanistan, Nadia holds a degree in Psychology from The University of California - Berkeley. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Psychology from JFK University in Pleasant Hill, CA. At Telemetry Solutions Nadia's does pretty much anything outside of production. If you need something, call her. Her pastimes include taking numerous vacations, using her navigation system when she should be watching the road and sending text messages from her iPhone. We have no idea how she finds the time to work full time and to go to school full time.

Thinh Nguyen- Mechanical Technician

The newest member of our team, born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam. Thinh was a civil engineer in Vietnam and brings to the table a ton of brain power. Even though he is fairly new at Telemetry Solutions, he has already suggested many time-saving ideas as well as new testing methods. In The United States Thinh has been a general contractor and Thinh is now continuing his education to become an integrated circuit designer. We have high hopes for his future with us.

Tom Alanko - Consulting, S.E.O. and Web Coding

Tom, born and raised in Eskilstuna, Sweden, holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Chalmers University, Gothenburg. 10 years ago, Tom left Sweden for the sunny climes of Spain where he now resides. Tom has been associated with the wildlife tracking industry for 10 years but recently made a life changing decision, took on the role of our consultant and started his own company in another field. Tom's hobbies include working, whisky, gardening, cooking and most recently swimming 2K without stopping.
